- JCAHO Accredited
Morgantown Hospice provides services without regard to the family's ability to pay.
Medicare beneficiaries who elect Hospice services receive a full range of non-curative medical and supportive services for their terminal illness. One hundred percent of the cost of these services is covered under the Medicare Hospice Benefit. The cost of drugs and biologicals, related to the terminal illness, is also covered under the benefit.
Coverage under a Medicare Advantage Plan (like a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or other Medicare health plan may no longer be in effect. Medicare reimburses care at 80% for services outside the Medicare Hospice Benefit and the patient is responsible for the 20% co-pay. The patient may contact a Medicare customer service representative regarding a Medicare supplemental insurance policy or prescription coverage.
Private insurance may cover all or part of the cost. For those who are eligible for Medicare benefits or do not have private insurance, Morgantown Hospice has a sliding fee scale. There is no charge for care provided to those unable to pay for it.
Morgantown Hospice is able to provide reduced rates or free care to those in need because of the generosity of the community through commemorative and other contributions and gifts.
