| Sleep Center of Mon General Hospital
|
Mon General Hospital opened its Sleep Center in October 2001. The Sleep Center offers thorough evaluations with well-trained staff on duty 24 hours a day, in the study, diagnosis, and treatment of sleep disorders. A manager and three technicians, on various shifts, staff the center.
At the Sleep Center, the first step in determining if there is a sleep disorder is consulting with a sleep specialist. At that time an extensive history and physical is taken to determine exactly what the sleeping problem is and then a determination is made if a sleep study is needed.
If a study is warranted, patients stay at the center in a room decorated much like a home bedroom, and are monitored during their sleep to determine any sleep disorder.
