Clinical Educator - Educator Job Description

Job Summary
The Clinical Educator will assess, plan/develop, implement and evaluate learning/resource needs related to orientation and continuing education needs. Coordinates, develops and presents educational programs designed to maintain, enhance and assess job performance and competencies for Nursing Service employees. Supports patient education initiatives as appropriate. Conducts observations in form of "work with" of staff to maintain knowledge of positions and assess needs of staff and/or unit. Participates in evaluation process by documenting performance. 

Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement : Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing preferred.

b. Minimum Experience Requirement : Demonstrated knowledge of staff development and program development. Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively collaborate with physicians, and instruct patients and their families.

c. Minimum License Requirement : Current licensure as a registered nurse from the West Virginia State Board of Nursing. Must possess current BLS certification, which is renewed every two years. Appropriate certification for the position preferred and maintained (i.e. CCRN).

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
