At Monongalia Health System our commitment to managing your total health involves the coordination of multiple rewards programs from Medical Insurance to Paid Days Off. We believe the broad spectrum of benefits described below will go the distance in supporting the overall well being of our employees.
Medical Insurance The Mon Health System Comprehensive Medical Plan provides you with three tiers of coverage, allowing you to choose your level of coverage at the point of service. In tier one you have the highest level of benefits by receiving your medical care within the Mon Health System network. Tier two provides coverage for care services not available within the Mon Health System network. Tier three provides coverage for out of network services.
Dental Insurance This coverage provides for preventative care and other standard services for employees and their families. This insurance offers the flexibility to visit the provider of your own choice.
Vision Insurance This plan is an insurance program to help with the cost of eye exams and eyewear and provides discounts for additional services and materials. There is a per pay deduction for this benefit.
The Retirement and Savings Plan This is a defined contribution retirement plan. Your account grows by combining the Mon Health System Retirement Security Contribution (which is an employer contribution determined by a points system adding together your years of service and age), your savings, the employer matching contribution and your investment earnings. While employee savings in this plan is not mandatory, we encourage you to make pre-tax contributions in order to maximize your employer match.
You are eligible as of your hire date to begin saving in this plan and you are always vested in (have ownership of) your own savings. To become vested in the Mon Health System employer contributions, you must complete three years of vesting service. One year of vesting service is earned by working at least 1,000 hours during any plan year.
Employee Assistance Program This benefit provides you with three free visits per year with an experienced and professional counselor. This is a confidential service available to all employees and their family members.
Wellness Program This program encourages healthy behavior by sponsoring a variety of wellness programming and events throughout the year. Programs include health screenings, nutrition education, smoking cessation, stress management, and various exercise activities. The program includes an incentive program that provides for a cash payment to the employee depending on the level of participation.
Group Long-Term Care Insurance This type of insurance will pay for some or all of your long-term care expenses. It is a good way to help protect a family's savings or other assets, to preserve them for the surviving spouse and children.
Employee Health Services provides employees with health screenings and evaluations, routine immunizations, and general first aid.
Paid Days Off Program PDOs are provided so that employees may have time away from work with pay for holidays, vacation, and short-term illness. The number of days is determined by normal work hours and length of service. During the training and orientation period, new employees do not accrue PDO hours, however, upon successful completion of the training and orientation period, PDO hours are awarded based on hours worked.
